Accommodation

Anderson’s Care Home comprises of five units. The units vary in size and can accommodate from eight to thirteen residents on a single occupancy basis – we have a few large bedsitting rooms which are popular with couples or friends who wish to share. Anderson’s in total may accommodate 56 older people.  Four of the units are within the main Anderson’s A-listed building while the fifth unit is housed within a large detached period residence next door.

All rooms at Anderson’s are Ensuite with furniture provided. We may agree to residents bringing some of their own furniture so long as the item(s) comply with safety standards. Any electrical items must be checked by our in-house tester prior to use.

We employ a team of housekeeping staff who work to a very high standard to keep all areas within the Home clean as part of our infection control strategy.

We employ maintenance staff in- house and employ contractors externally to keep the Home in a good state of repair.

There is lift access to upper floors and ramps to enable those with limited mobility to enter and exit the building.

There is a “wee shoppie” in the main hall of Anderson’s which is popular with residents and their families who wish to buy items of confectionary, toiletries, cards etc.  The shop was set up on the initiative of residents themselves with initial set up costs provided by the residents’ amenity fund. Any profit made by the shop is paid back into the residents’ amenity fund.

A large laundry equipped with the latest industrial laundry equipment is housed in the basement of our detached unit.  All residents’ personal laundry as well as bedlinen, towels etc is taken care of here as well as ironing as required.  We aim to return laundry to the owner within twenty four hours of receipt.  All items of clothing must have names on for identification purposes. We regret that we are unable to accept items of clothing which are unsuitable for machine washing.
