We are seeking help from the public to assist us in raising funds for a new lift at our Care Home In Elgin. Existing lifts installed many years ago are too small for efficient operation of a modern care home and comfort of residents. The new lift is designed to take several passengers and equipment.

Our manager and her staff do a great job in running the Home to high standards and continually meet the challenges posed by operating in an old listed building. One challenge is the fact that the existing lifts in the old building have limited capacity and are now too small for efficient operation of a modern care home and the comfort of residents. The new lift will be constructed on an outside wall at the rear of the building. It is designed to be large enough to carry several passengers and equipment and so will make a tremendous difference to residents, visitors and staff. It is scheduled for completion by May 2020.

The total cost to Anderson’s will be in excess of £100,000. Applications for support are being made to national funders for half the total and we hope our local public will help us raise £50,000 towards the other half. (If, fingers crossed, we exceed our totals you are assured that any surplus will be used in other ongoing modernisation programmes. Similarly, if planning permission for the Lift is refused all monies raised will be used solely for modernisation of the Care Home.)

P.S. You can also support us by coming to see ”The General” – a Musical in aid of Anderson’s – at Elgin Town Hall on 25th & 26th October 2019.
